Statistics and analytics training

Statistics and analytics

You learn to use statistics and analytics for fact-based problem solving.

We define a measurable goal, measure current situation, analyze why we are not where we want to be, solve root causes and ensure lasting results.

This course is 3 days virtual or physical classroom.

This course follows DMAIC:

  • Define: Understand the problem, make it measurable, and set specific goals.
  • Measure: Collect data about the current situation.
  • Analyze: Understand possible causes and prove the main ones.
  • Improve: Optimize settings using experimental design (DOE).
  • Control: Monitor key variables for lasting results.

Learning objectives:

You learn to use data analysis and visualization to answer the following questions:

  • What needs to be improved (define measurement) and what is the goal (specific)?
  • What is the current situation (data analysis and visualization)?
  • How do we collect data (population, sampling, confidence)?
  • How do we interpret data (center and spread)?
  • How do we visualize the current situation (Histogram, Run chart & Control charts)?
  • How do we know that the measurements are good enough (determine important characteristics)?
  • How do we choose the right improvement appraoch (SPC and capability)?
  • How can we understand and reduce variation (Control Charts with subgroups)?
  • How can we prove causal relationships (Pareto, Box plot, Scatter plot, correlation, and hypothesis testing)?
  • How do we determine optimal settings with the fewest possible experiments (DOE)?
  • How do we ensure lasting results by montitoring important variables and react properly (Control Charts)?
