I was very impressed with Sissel's Lean Six Sigma knowledge. She makes it easy to identify improvements and create results.
About the training
Statistical process control - SPC separates normal and special variation to help you respond correctly to measurement results
You can also use them to determine if processes are stable (predictable) and capable of meeting customer requirements.
All processes are subject to normal and special variation. Responding to these types of variation requires different approaches which you will learn about in this training.
Like Run Charts, Control Charts track data over time. Unlike Run Charts, they detect and label unusual patterns in the data. This makes them powerful to identify data worth investigating.
Learning objectives
This training enables you to:
- Maintain acceptable quality by monitoring critical variables
- Work preventively by addressing issues early (e.g. maintenance)
- Determine capability (is the process capable of meeting customer requirements?)
- Assess stability (is the process predictable?)
- Compare machines and equipment to Continuously Improve and make good decision when investing in new machines
- Evaluate the effect of improvements (has the center and / or variation of the process changed?)
- Avoid overreacting to normal variation (causing greater variation)
- Learn from special cause variation (conduct Root cause analysis)
- Introduction
- Process mapping to understand variation
- Normal and special cause variation
- Introduction to Control Charts
- Normal distribution & probability
- How to interpret a Control Chart
- Stability
- Sign of Special Cause variation
- Compare control limits and customer specifications
- Practical applications of Control Charts
- How to determine Capability (how well the process meets customer requirements)
- Strategies to improve Capability
- Different type of Control Chart and when to use them (classroom training only)
We use a Galton board to understand basic statistics, histogram and normal distribution.
We create Control Charts using data generated from the Galton board.
We check how adjustments based on individual measurements affect the variation of the process.
The Galton board gives a good visual understanding of how variation increases when you overreact to normal variation.
Practical information
Courses can be arranged on request and customized to your business needs.
Your own data can be used in examples and exercises.
Open courses are arranged according to the Course Calendar.
You can start e-learning when you want. You have access for a year and unlimited attempts to successfully complete multiple-choice exam.
Lunch, refreshments, and drinks during classroom training are included, and you receive a course completion certificate.
Location
Course location varies; check "Place" in Course Calendar.
Lean Tech is located at Igloo Innovation at SNØ (Snøfonna 5, 1470 Lørenskog) and organizes courses here.
We have an agreement with Thon Hotels and organize courses in other locations as needed.

Instructor
Sissel Pedersen Lundeby is IASSC (International association for Six Sigma certification) accredited trainer associate:
"This accreditation publically reflects that you have met the standards established by IASSC such that those who participate in a training program led by you can expect to receive an acceptable level of knowledge..."
Sissel has a Master in Chemical Engineering and more than 20 years' experience within manufacturing and environmental technology. She has practiced Lean Six Sigma since 2002, completing Black Belt projects and certification through Cytec (2004) and IASSC (2017).
She use Lean Six Sigma to create measurable results and want her course participants to be successful improving their processes. That's why her training focus on practical application.
